CST is a gentle, hands-on therapy that works with the body's fascia (connective tissue) and nervous system to release tension, encourage relaxation, and restore balance. Using a light touch and guided unwinding techniques, CST supports the body's natural ability to heal by improving mobility, circulation, and nervous system regulation.
Pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period are a time of incredible change for both mother and baby. Throughout this journey, physical and emotional stress can create patterns of tension within the body. For babies, factors such as positioning in the womb, the birth process, NICU stays, or early medical interventions may contribute to these restrictions. For mothers, the physical demands of pregnancy, labor, delivery, feeding, and postpartum recovery can also leave the body holding tension.
Our goal is to gently release these restrictions, allowing the body to move and function with greater ease. By supporting the body's natural healing processes, CST may help improve comfort, movement, feeding, regulation, and overall well-being for babies, while helping mothers find relief from headaches, jaw pain, digestive concerns, anxiety, persistent muscle tension, and other discomforts that may linger after pregnancy and birth.
By relieving the body of tension, the goal is to allow the infant to move and function the way they are created to. This can be especially helpful for:
oral motor dysfunction
symptoms of colic or reflux
nervous system regulation
latching difficulty
preparing for tongue or lip tie release
overall infant comfort
